Why is this Door Closed?

Have you ever noticed that, whichever side they're on, cats are always on the wrong side of any closed door?

We were expecting a delivery today of a new clothes dryer. I had received a phone call telling us the delivery would occur between 9 and 11 am. So, after breakfast, I sequestered the kitties upstairs, in the bedroom wing of the house. They had plenty of territory - the bedroom, guestroom, two baths, Richs office, the hall. I also opened the door to the screen porch and from there to the kitchen (closing off the kitchen from the front of the house).

Nevertheless, Raven was not happy. He walked to every door and complained. He cried. He pawed at the door. he stuck his feet under it. "Why is this door closed? And why am I on this side of it?"

Finally I let Raven into the living room with me. He promptly walked over to the door leading to the bedroom wing (a closed door) and proceeded to cry, paw, lie on the floor and stick his feet under it. "Why is this door closed? And why am I on this side of it?"

The dryer delivery crew came at 10 am. The kitties were most happy to be released half an hour later!

Mwrp!
