What Have You Been Doing?

Rich and I spent the three-day weekend re-flooring the kitchen and dining room. Because of all the work, power tools, noise, dust, mess, and general confusion, the cats have been sequestered in either the bedroom or the downstairs for abut 9 hours each day for three days. They were not happy about the whole situation.

What have you been doing? And why can't we help? We're good helpers. And Bebop could supervise. If we don't supervise, how will you get it right?

WHAT was that NOISE? Eek! There is a huge monster in our house! It growls a lot and roars and then sometimes it hisses. Will it eat me? I don't want to be eaten!

Hey! Why are we stuck downstairs? Hello? Hellloooo! We're down here! We want to be up there! Then again, maybe we don't want to be up there. You could come down here and be with us where the monsters can't get us.

I'm awake now and the door is closed. It's dark and I'm all by myself and this DOOR is CLOSED! How did this door get to be closed! Hi! yes, let me out and... why are we going downstairs and... Hey! Wait a minute. You closed that door. I'm on the wrong side again! You're still out there.

This is not fair.

Helllloooo? It's well past suppertime. Thank you. Oh yumm. Maybe it's OK to be down here if we get supper.

Oh, look, the door is open. Mama says we can come upstairs. Is the monster gone? Let's be very careful. You go first. What have they done without us watching?

The floor is different; it's slippy under my toes. It smells different. Our cat tree has moved again. Does that mean it's different?

Are you done yet? Can we stay with you now?
