Huggies?

Raven has discovered that I'm a prime target when I am (ahem) sitting in the bathroom. He comes up very close, places himself between my knees, plants his paws on my chest and makes Meaningful Eye Contact. Then he starts working on crawling up the front of my shirt (so I pick him up and hug him which is what he had in mind all along).

Last night I was cleaning the cat box, half kneeling on the floor. Raven wanted to climb into my lap, but I wasn't helping (and one knee is not a lap). So then he tried to hop onto my shoulder. (Un)Fortunately my shirt was made of a material that didn't provide much purchase so he slipped back down. Poor sweetie. I finished with the cat box and picked him up for a quick kiss and snuggle.

These two stories remind me... why is it that we can't look at the cats when they are in the litter box — most cats get embarrassed if a hooman "watches" — but they stare at us in the bathroom all the time? Yes, I know, Rich and I ask questions like this often and the other always responds with the ONLY right answer... Because They're Cats (of course).
