It has been quite a week for "Raven!" His life has already changed a lot from an outside roamer. He doesn't seem to mind being inside and cared for. I do feel bad, however, that we only have time to visit him off and on during each day. I probably feel worse about that than he does...he didn't get much attention outside, I guess!I will be very nervous putting him on that plane - have never done this before, but when my phone rings and Vicki says he's arrived safely, I'll be sooooo happy!
Bari and I wrote back and forth. Rich and I set up a cozy little "apartment" in the garage (our vet strongly recommended a 2-week quarantine to ensure that he wasn't 'incubating" anything (e.g. caught on the trip) and also because he had hookworms.
We have what we hope will be a snug little den for him for the quarantine period and we will go in and pet, love, and brush as often as possible (which will cause Squirrel no end of consternation, I'm sure!)
And then, at last, it was Sunday, and the cat was on the plane and the plane was in San Francisco, and the cat was on the ground.
We picked him up about 3pm (the plane was a bit late unloading) and brought him home. He meeped once when we were getting ready to put him in the car. ...It's hard to imagine it's been two years. It's hard to imagine it's only been two years. He's snuggled into our hearts, our bed, our lives, and our cat furniture. We have a nice little space for him, in about a 4x4x4 cube, with rug on the floor and one side and a carpet-covered catfurniture cube in half the space. The pictures are awful but they show the space. Lots of air. A snuggly hideaway. Cat food and water on the upper level of the blue cube, far from the litter box. A fuzzy mouse.
This is going to be the longest two weeks...!
Thank you Bari for this wonderful boycat.
