What Little Brothers are Good For

We have a headboard on our bed made from a 6-ft long teak coffee table with a small bookcase set on it. While the bed itself has no space underneath, there is plenty of space under the headboard for a cat.

In order for one of the hoomans to reach a cat under the headboard, the mattress must be shifted. Then the hooman lays on the bed and fishes for the cat with an extended arm. Fun fun fun for the kitty. Not so much fun for the hooman.

Mezzaluna has recently taken to sleeping under the headboard in the early morning. Mezzaluna needs to take a pill twice a day. That means that I need to shift the mattress and fish around until I disturb Mezzaluna sufficiently that she comes out from under the headboard.

This morning, as I was poking and prodding I said to Rich "I need something to prod with". He said "We have yard sticks". I said "nooo... I want something more..." "Soft and fluffy?" asked Rich. Right. Soft and fluffy.

What do I have that's soft and fluffy and ... Hello Raven!

So I picked up Raven and said, "Go in there under the headboard and tell the sister to come out" and I scooted Raven in from the side.

What ho! Mezzaluna was out the other end, looking put upon, in less than 30 seconds.

That's one of the many things that Little Brothers are good for.
