Typing With Cats
I work from home on Fridays.Toward mid-afternoon, Squirrel came into my office. He wanted love and attention. He sat on my desk, just behind the keyboard. He looked at me. He made meaningful eye contact.
He settled into the time-honored "Sphinx position"
This put both paws on my keyboard, in the center, from the function key row to the space bar. Squirrel is a Maine Coon. He had big paws. He presses keys (quite a few keys, actually) in this position.
One of the applications I run, Konfabulator (aka Yahoo! Widget Engine), sets a global hotkey for a feature called Konspose'. The default key is F8 (in the center of the function key row). Oops. Squirrel was leaning on F8.
Under Konspose', everything on the desktop is covered by a slightly transparent blue "screen" and all you really see are the Widgets.
Um, Squirrel, honey? I can't type. I can't work and all of my windows are effectively invisible...
You don't need to type... Rub my head.
